Rising home values in Florida reassure potential homebuyers!

South Florida Real Estate Newsletters

Homes in Florida may be selling slowly, but economists agree they are selling. The facts say it, growth is slowly moving in an upward trend. Let’s face it, Florida has job growth and people still want to move here. If people weren’t interested in living in Florida, these houses wouldn’t be selling at all and our markets would be facing outrageous drops in the price of homes.

While the prices have adjusted over the past several years, we have hit the bottom and the market is finally beginning to even out. According to a recent poll, 63 percent of Floridians believe that the value of their property will rise over the next several years.

The Perfect Time to Buy

With prices at a 40-year low and beginning to rise, and a large inventory of properties, buyers have something they haven’t had for years: choice! (And lots of it.) These high inventory levels and low prices make this a buyer's market. People searching for homes in Florida today can get a lot more for their money than just five years ago. The fact that banks are reluctant to make high risk loans means that the market is set for slow and steady growth that will continue for years to come.

The United States housing market is ready to once again be what it should be…a place for you to buy a home, live in it for a decent amount of time, in which the value of the home will rise, and sell it for a profit. The time for people to flip properties to make a quick buck is past; it’s now the time for people to purchase homes that will increase in value over a period of several years.

We hear plenty of talk about how difficult it is for people to get loans these days, but the fact is that a buyer with good credit (the ones that are actually in a position to buy a home), are getting better deals then they have in years and the banks are happy to have the business.

People with foreign currency are also in an excellent position to buy. With the dollar at an all-time low, foreign investors will get much more for their money. Thinking of a vacation home in South Florida? Now is the time. The experts at Ellie Harovitz South Florida Real Estate Broker Associates have the knowledge and resources to help you find the perfect home.
